AnimalDex Terms of Use

Effective April 29, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to AnimalDex ("AnimalDex," "we," "our," or "the app"). By creating an account, using the app, uploading content, buying credits, subscribing to AnimalDex Pro, or using community features, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use AnimalDex.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account. You must provide accurate account information and may not impersonate another person or misuse usernames, avatars, bios, profile fields, or public content.

Subscriptions, Purchases, and Credits

AnimalDex may offer subscriptions, consumable credits, and other paid features.

  1. AnimalDex Pro is an auto-renewing monthly subscription.
  2. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at purchase confirmation.
  3. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  4. You can manage or cancel AnimalDex Pro through Apple ID subscription settings.
  5. Deleting your AnimalDex account does not automatically cancel Apple subscriptions. You must cancel through Apple.
  6. Consumable credits are final except where a refund is required by law or Apple policy.
  7. Apple purchases and subscriptions are also subject to Apple terms and policies.

If AnimalDex uses Apple's standard End User License Agreement, that agreement is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.

User Content

AnimalDex may let you upload animal photos, videos, notes, profile content, messages, pack listings, captures, trades, challenges, and other content. You are responsible for the content you submit and must have the rights needed to upload and share it.

By submitting content, you give AnimalDex permission to host, store, process, analyze, display, distribute, moderate, and use that content as needed to operate, improve, secure, and support the service. You keep ownership of your content.

Zero-Tolerance UGC Policy

AnimalDex has zero tolerance for objectionable user-generated content or abusive conduct. You may not submit, send, display, list, trade, challenge with, or otherwise share content that is objectionable, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual, violent, illegal, infringing, exploitative, deceptive, threatening, or unsafe.

This policy applies to messages, profile content, captures, usernames, display names, bios, avatars, Instagram URLs, pack listings, trade activity, challenge activity, reactions, reports, and all other public or shared content.

AnimalDex may remove content, suspend accounts, eject users, restrict access, limit features, or take other enforcement action when content or behavior violates these Terms or creates risk for users, animals, partners, or the service.

Moderation, Reporting, and Blocking

Users can report objectionable content and abusive users in the app. Users can also block abusive users. Blocking removes that user's content from the blocker’s feed immediately.

AnimalDex reviews reports and acts within 24 hours where objectionable content is confirmed. Enforcement may include removing content, restricting visibility, disabling messaging or community features, suspending accounts, terminating accounts, preserving records for safety or legal reasons, or escalating serious abuse.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  1. Upload only content you own or have permission to share.
  2. Use animal, location, discovery, message, trade, challenge, pack, and community features lawfully and respectfully.
  3. Avoid disturbing, harming, baiting, harassing, or endangering animals, habitats, protected areas, or other people.
  4. Avoid sharing sensitive location information in a way that could endanger wildlife, private property, or other users.
  5. Avoid fraud, spam, scraping, reverse engineering, security bypasses, payment abuse, entitlement abuse, fake captures, fake trades, or manipulation of credits, packs, missions, challenges, rankings, reports, or moderation systems.

AI Results

AnimalDex uses AI-assisted analysis to identify animals and generate related information. AI results can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or inappropriate for a specific context. Results are informational only and are not professional, veterinary, medical, legal, safety, conservation, or emergency advice.

Account Deletion

Users can initiate account deletion in the app through Profile -> Settings -> Delete Account. Deleting an account removes or deidentifies account data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal, fraud, security, transaction, dispute, and moderation record retention.

Deleting an AnimalDex account does not automatically cancel Apple subscriptions. Users must cancel subscriptions through Apple ID subscription settings.

App Availability and Changes

AnimalDex may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms as the app changes. Continued use after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service, abuse other users, misuse animal or location features, infringe rights, evade moderation, or use AnimalDex in a way that harms users, animals, partners, or the product.

Disclaimers

AnimalDex is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, availability, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, AnimalDex will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost purchases, loss of goodwill, or harm arising from use of the app.
