Wildlife Guide Buyer Terms

These terms apply when you buy a Wildlife Guide on AnimalDex, in the app or on animaldex.app. They sit alongside the AnimalDex Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

1. What you are buying

A Wildlife Guide is a virtual guide: the author's notes on the animals they found in one place, a chat with the author, and introductions to local people the author met. It is advice from someone who has been there. It is not a tour, the author is not with you, and no sighting is guaranteed.

2. Who you are buying from

The author is an independent AnimalDex member, not AnimalDex staff. AnimalDex runs the marketplace, takes the payment and handles refunds. In the apps you pay with AnimalDex Credits. On the website you pay by card through Paddle, our payment provider and reseller, whose buyer terms also apply to the card payment.

3. Access straight away

The guide opens as soon as your payment completes. By buying you ask for the guide to be supplied straight away. Where the law gives you a right to cancel a purchase of digital content, that right ends once the guide has been supplied; the refunds in section 4 still apply, and nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

4. Refunds

• No reply from the author. If the author does not reply in your chat within 48 hours of your purchase, you are refunded automatically.
• Changed your mind. You can ask for a refund for any reason within 7 days of buying. Your first such refund in any 90 days is immediate; later requests are reviewed by a person, and we tell you the outcome.
• Credits are returned to your balance straight away. Card refunds go back to the card you paid with; your bank usually shows them within 5 to 10 business days.
• A refunded guide locks again: its notes and contacts are no longer available to you.

5. The chat and local contacts

Be respectful in the chat. Anyone the author introduces is independent of AnimalDex and of the author. Any arrangement you make with them, including payment, is between you and them; AnimalDex is not a party to it and does not check, insure or endorse them.

6. Wildlife and safety

Use the guide responsibly. Follow park rules, permits and local laws, and never disturb, feed, touch or chase wildlife. Conditions change: check access, weather and safety for yourself before you go. You visit any place at your own risk.

7. Personal use

The guide is for your own use. Do not copy, resell or publish its notes or the contact details in it.

8. Problems

If a guide is misleading or the author behaves badly, report it from the guide or write to [email protected]. We may hide a guide, refund you, or stop an author selling. To the extent the law allows, AnimalDex's liability for a guide is limited to what you paid for it.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The version you agreed to when you bought a guide continues to apply to that purchase.
