About this place
Cijantung and neighbouring Susukan in Ciracas sit in the residential south-east of Jakarta. The wildlife here is the everyday kind that shares homes and gardens with people: common house geckos on walls and around lights, yellow-spotted millipedes on damp ground, and greenbottle blow flies in garden and bush patches. The author logged four sightings over four days in July and August. Most came in the afternoon, with one at dusk and one in the early morning. Geckos showed up in late afternoon and early evening, the millipede around 8 in the morning, and the fly in mid-afternoon. This is a virtual guide written by someone who has been there, not a tour. You get the author's notes on each species and can message the author with questions about looking for small creatures in this part of the city. Sightings are never guaranteed.Read more
