Quick answer
The Oriental Garden Lizard's power is signal shift. Sometimes being noticed is the strategy. This interpretation is grounded in real behavior: Oriental Garden Lizards ordinarily use relatively subdued coloration among vegetation, while breeding males can become dramatically more conspicuous around the head and throat and combine that colour with territorial visual displays. The same animal shifts from blending into its surroundings to deliberately broadcasting itself when social competition makes recognition valuable.
