How Cufant compares to the real Asian Elephant
Cufant's official category is the Copperderm Pokémon. AnimalDex rates its resemblance to the Asian Elephant as a strong match, meaning the design reads directly as this animal. Cufant is a copper-skinned elephant calf with a strong trunk. Its smaller ears and rounded head are elephant traits, and its Copperajah evolution's royal styling points to the Asian elephant, the species once used in work and royal processions.
The comparison covers looks and behavior cues, not biology: Cufant is a fictional Pokémon, while the Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus) is a real mammal. On AnimalDex the real Asian Elephant scores 92 for dominance, 38 for speed, 88 for size and 90 for intelligence, out of 100, so its strongest trait is dominance.
Official category: Copperderm Pokemon. This page is an AnimalDex comparison for real-animal resemblance, not an official design-origin claim.
