How Iron Thorns compares to the real Rhinoceros Iguana
Iron Thorns's official category is the Paradox Pokémon. AnimalDex rates its resemblance to the Rhinoceros Iguana as a broad match, meaning the animal is one influence in a largely fantasy design. Iron Thorns is a robotic future Tyranitar, a spiky kaiju-style reptile design rather than a real animal. The rhinoceros iguana, a heavy, horned, spiny-crested lizard, is the nearest living reptile to that armoured look.
The comparison covers looks and behavior cues, not biology: Iron Thorns is a fictional Pokémon, while the Rhinoceros Iguana (Cyclura cornuta) is a real reptile. On AnimalDex the real Rhinoceros Iguana scores 43 for dominance, 27 for speed, 34 for size and 23 for intelligence, out of 100, so its strongest trait is dominance.
Official category: Paradox Pokemon. This page is an AnimalDex comparison for real-animal resemblance, not an official design-origin claim.

- Heavy body suited to rocky Caribbean terrain
- Territorial displays by mature males
