How Tadbulb compares to the real Argentine Horned Frog
Tadbulb's official category is the EleTadpole Pokémon. AnimalDex rates its resemblance to the Argentine Horned Frog as a reasonable match, meaning the animal is clear but the design mixes in other traits. Tadbulb is the EleTadpole Pokémon, a round electric tadpole that floats on its own glowing body. It is the young of Bellibolt's round frog, so the Argentine horned frog's tadpole stage is the closest match.
The comparison covers looks and behavior cues, not biology: Tadbulb is a fictional Pokémon, while the Argentine Horned Frog (Ceratophrys ornata) is a real amphibian.
Official category: EleTadpole Pokemon. This page is an AnimalDex comparison for real-animal resemblance, not an official design-origin claim.

Ceratophrys ornata
The Argentine horned frog (Ceratophrys ornata) is a large, round ambush frog of the pampas grasslands and wetlands of Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil. Females reach about 16 cm long. Its mouth is nearly as wide as its body, which has earned it the pet-trade name Pac-Man frog.
How to recognize it
- Squat, almost spherical body with a head that is roughly half the total length.
- Bright green with dark red-brown or black blotches outlined in yellow or pale green.
- Small fleshy points over each eye that give the horned look.
Real Argentine Horned Frog facts
