Dusky Lories are highly social parrots of New Guinea that commonly move and feed in active groups. Their flock behaviour depends on frequent vocal communication, rapid responses to nearby birds and coordinated movement between flowering and fruiting food sources. Rather than functioning as isolated individuals, much of their daily activity is amplified by the presence and behaviour of the flock.
