Instagram import
Can I import Instagram Reels?
Often, yes โ when the device can sample the video.
Updated August 30, 2026
Often, yes โ when the device can sample the video. AnimalDex then uses the same identity, location, and accuracy review as still posts before the original video is imported.
Steps: connect and scan as usual. Videos that can be played are sampled. If a Reel cannot be sampled, that item is skipped so the rest of the archive can still be reviewed.
What can go wrong: some devices cannot extract frames from every Instagram codec. A skipped Reel is not a failed import of your photos. The iOS app can extract frames from more video cases.
What to do next: continue reviewing still posts, then retry the Reel later or finish those videos in the iOS app. Do not wait on a spinner if the video cannot play.
