Malang and the hill town of Batu are the single biggest cluster of AnimalDex captures in Indonesia, split between zoos and highland forest. Batu Secret Zoo at Jatim Park 2 is where most people log cassowaries, red lories, crested firebacks, wood owls and marabou storks. Outside, Coban Rondo's waterfall has long-tailed macaques, the Pujon forests have serpent eagles and yellow-vented bulbuls, the Bromo road has rusa deer and porcupines, and the coffee country toward Dampit has palm civets.
