Jawaban cepat

Vietnam's wildlife is primate-rich and hard-won. Red-shanked doucs live on the Son Tra peninsula beside Da Nang, Cat Ba and Francois' langurs cling to limestone karst in the north, pygmy slow lorises and rescued doucs can be seen at Cuc Phuong's primate centre, and Cat Tien National Park has gaur, Siamese crocodiles and gibbons. The Mekong delta's Tram Chim holds sarus cranes and storks. Everywhere, house geckos, sun skinks, mynas, dragonflies and hornets are what users actually log.

Vietnam stretches 1,600 kilometres from the limestone karst of the Chinese border to the Mekong delta, and its wildlife changes with it. The north has langurs on cliffs and turtles in the rescue centres; the central highlands around Da Lat have pine-forest birds and the country's last big mammals; the south has Cat Tien's lowland forest and the delta's crane marshes.

Decades of hunting emptied much of the forest, so the big animals are concentrated in a few parks and rescue centres, while the common fauna is thriving. AnimalDex users in Hanoi, Da Lat, Ninh Binh and Ca Mau log hornets, chafer beetles, pig-tailed macaques, pond turtles, fantails and freshwater crabs.

Vietnam is where the saola was discovered in 1992 and where it may already be extinct; it has not been photographed since 2013. The country's remaining forest in the Annamites is one of the most important and least protected in Asia.

The rescue centres at Cuc Phuong, the Endangered Primate Rescue Center and the Turtle Conservation Centre, are where confiscated animals from the wildlife trade end up, and they are open to visitors. Seeing a Cat Ba langur or a box turtle there is a direct look at what the trade takes.

  • Primate watchers: doucs, langurs, gibbons and lorises in one country
  • Travelers combining Da Nang or Hoi An with Son Tra's wild doucs
  • Night-drive fans at Cat Tien for gaur, civets, lorises and crocodiles
  • Collectors who like an easy everyday list: skinks, geckos, mynas, hornets and dragonflies

Tips spotting

  1. 01Drive or cycle Son Tra's coastal road from Da Nang at 6 am; doucs feed in the trees above the road and are gone by mid-morning.
  2. 02At Cat Tien, book the night drive and the Bau Sau crocodile walk on different days; both need early starts and the walk is 10 kilometres round trip.
  3. 03Cuc Phuong's primate and turtle centres have set visiting hours and a guide; go in the afternoon and combine with a forest walk for pig-tailed macaques and water dragons.
  4. 04Tram Chim's cranes arrive after the floods recede; February and March are best, and a dawn boat gives storks, darters and whistling ducks regardless.

FAQ lokasi

What wildlife is there in Vietnam?

Red-shanked doucs, Cat Ba and Francois' langurs, gibbons and pygmy slow lorises in the forests; gaur, Siamese crocodiles and wild elephants in Cat Tien and Yok Don; sarus cranes and storks in the Mekong delta; and a common fauna of house geckos, sun skinks, water dragons, mynas, fantails, hornets and dragonflies everywhere.

What animals can be found in Vietnam?

Around 300 mammals including 25 primate species, 900 birds and 300 reptiles. The headline species are the doucs and langurs, saola, Indochinese tiger (likely gone), Asian elephant and gaur; the everyday ones are macaques, civets, geckos, skinks, pond turtles and insects.

Where is the best place to see wildlife in Vietnam?

Cat Tien National Park near Ho Chi Minh City for mammals on night drives, Son Tra near Da Nang for wild doucs, Cuc Phuong near Ninh Binh for the primate and turtle rescue centres, and Tram Chim in the delta for cranes and waterbirds.

Are there still tigers in Vietnam?

Almost certainly not in the wild. The Indochinese tiger has not been confirmed in Vietnam for over a decade, and the few at rescue centres came from trafficking seizures. Cat Tien's gaur and crocodiles are the big-animal highlights today.

Apakah pengguna AnimalDex pernah menemukan hewan di Vietnam?
