How Many Animals Have You Already Encountered?
Your old wildlife photos might hold a clearer record of the different animals you have seen — after you review them, not before.

The question is older than the app
How many different animals have I encountered? Which have I already found? How much of the animal world have I already seen? Those questions usually arrive years after the photos.
A feed will not answer them. A reviewed collection can — as unique AnimalDex entries, including group-level identities when a species-level name would be a guess.
Do not count before you review
AnimalDex will not invent a species total from unreviewed Instagram posts. Connect, find animal posts, confirm identity and a historical place, then import. The Dex becomes clearer after that work.
Current GPS is not the location of a holiday photograph. Captions are not coordinates.
